Accepting an Offer

The Price Is Not Always Right.

The highest offer isn’t necessarily the strongest offer for every seller. Price is one part of the equation, but financing, contingencies, timelines, and other terms can affect the overall value and certainty of an offer.

Jamie can help you review the complete proposal and understand how the different terms may affect your sale before you decide how to respond.

Negotiating The Right Way.

Negotiation is an important part of the selling process. Jamie brings more than 16 years of real estate experience to contract negotiations and works to protect her clients’ interests while helping them evaluate the terms of each proposal.

If multiple offers are received, each one should be reviewed based on its price, terms, financing, contingencies, and other relevant factors. Jamie can help you compare the proposals and determine how to proceed based on your goals.

The Initial Agreement and Deposit.

Once you accept an offer, the purchase agreement establishes the terms of the transaction between you and the buyer. Deposits and other contractual requirements are handled according to the terms of the agreement and applicable procedures.

Keep written records of everything. Agreements, counteroffers, addendums, and other changes should be documented properly. Jamie will help you navigate the paperwork involved in your sale and keep you informed as the transaction progresses.

Stick to the schedule. Your contract will establish important deadlines for inspections, financing, closing, and other stages of the transaction. Staying on schedule helps keep the sale moving and reduces the risk of missing an important requirement.
