Close of Escrow

Closing Day
As you approach closing, a few details still remain before you finalize the sale. Jamie will help you stay informed about the remaining steps and will coordinate with the appropriate parties as needed.

Final Walk-Through Inspection
The buyer will typically conduct a final walk-through shortly before closing. This confirms that the property meets the expected condition, that agreed-upon items remain at the property, and that no unexpected changes have occurred since the buyer’s previous visit.

Cancel Home Services and Utilities
Once you confirm your closing date, remember to arrange for services and utilities that will no longer be your responsibility after the sale. Jamie can provide useful contacts to help with the transition.

Be Prepared
Unexpected issues can sometimes arise during the final stages of a transaction. Financing delays, inspection concerns, repairs, or other details may require additional communication before closing.

Jamie provides transaction management and will keep you informed as your team addresses these issues so you understand what needs to happen next.

Closing
At closing, the closing agent coordinates the documents and financial details required to complete the transaction. You will review and sign the documents required for the sale, and the closing agent will handle the applicable funds and closing procedures.

If you’re receiving proceeds from the sale, the closing agent will provide instructions on how you’ll receive those funds.

Once you sign the required documents and complete the transaction, you finalize the sale and the property can officially move to its new owner.
